Mary Marse Humphries, 89, a native of Edgard and resident of LaPlace, passed away with her daughter by her side on March 16, 2016.

She is survived by her stepdaughters, Faye H. Mixon of Columbia, S.C. and Valerie S. Stone of San Francisco, Calif., sister Emma and husband Oswald Schexnayder; step grandsons Michael C. Hiller of Columbia, S.C., and Hunter Ludington of San Francisco, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years John C. Humphries; parents Arto Marse, Sr. and Agnes Brock Marse; brothers Pershing, Arto Jr. (Juanita), Jean (Rose Nattie) and Lester Marse (Doris); and sisters Elvige Gravois (Leonard) and Jeanne Folse (Reid).

Special thanks to her caregiver, Cindy Hymel, and her niece, Susan Guidry, for the love and kindness given to Humphries and her family.

Visitation is from 9 until 11 a.m. Monday, March 21 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
