LAPLACE — St. Joan of Arc Catholic School’s Marcie Hebert was selected as a participant in the Google for Education Certified Innovator Program, which began last month with an Innovation Academy at Google headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.
Hebert represented her school and the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Thirty-four participants were selected based on professional experience, passion for teaching and learning, innovative use of technology in school and potential impact on other educators.
Participants worked on unlocking creativity, translating insight into solutions and building an effective innovation culture in schools and organizations.
Organizers said participants came away with practical approaches, valuable tools and techniques and the beginnings of an Innovation Project, which will drive change in education, impact educators and students and be documented for others to follow.
Upon completion of the Innovation Academy, Hebert will be a Google for Education Certified Innovator. For more information on the Google for Education Certified Innovator Program, visit certifiedinnovators.com
