LAPLACE — Louisiana Federal Credit Union is organizing a prom dress drive for high school students impacted by the region’s recent tornados.

Donations may be dropped of daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at any of the Credit Union’s branch offices located in Gramercy, Norco, LaPlace or Hammond through Tuesday.

All donations should be in good condition. Donations will benefit students in the River Parishes and surrounding area.

“We noticed quite a few residents were talking about trying to make prom special despite the recent devastation in our area,” said Mia Perez, CAO of the Credit Union. “We saw a need that wasn’t met and we decided to jump right in. Our goal is to collect 100 dresses.”

The dress drive will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. March 16 at the Credit Union’s Training Center, 805 Robin St. in LaPlace, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 19 at the Training Center.
