LAPLACE — Tanya Cenac, a mission educator, recently visited the fourth grade students at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, sharing first-hand experiences of her work in mission countries.

Cenac showed the students photos of her and other missionaries’ time working with the poor in foreign countries.

Students also learned how about Mission Rosary and how each color represents a specific part of the world.

Cenac explained how the children in those countries work for part of the day and go to school for part of the day in order to help financially support their families.

She showed examples of musical instruments made by people of those regions out of materials they can easily find.

In the photograph she is demonstrating how to play an instrument made out of the hooves of the animals they used for food and skins.
