Miriam St. Martin Marks

Miriam St. Martin Marks, 83, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Marks was born on Aug. 3, 1932, and was the daughter of John F. St. Martin and Martha Andry. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and her love of baking earned her the nickname, “The Cake Lady.”
She was a member of the Lady’s Altar Society and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Marks is survived by her loving husband, Luce Marks Jr.
She is the beloved mother of Dolores Cambre (Jack), John Marks, Cindy Waldron (Jim), Donnie Marks and Julie Reine (Steve); grandmother of eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Marks was preceded in death by her siblings, John F. St. Martin, Elmore St. Martin, Ruby Budai and Audrey Hymel; granddaughters Rachel Marks, Brandi Marks, Angelle Sellars and Angie Cambre; and great grandson, Joshua Lampiasi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at noon Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St. in LaPlace.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. in church. Interment is in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
