RESERVE — A local man was arrested this week, accused of ramming his fiancée’s car and throwing her to the ground.
Deputies identified Robert Langley Jr., 38, of Reserve as the suspect and arrested him at the residence. Langley was booked with domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse aggravated assault, simple kidnapping and simple criminal damage to property.
Langley was released from custody today (Feb. 19) after posting a $28,500 bond.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies began their case after responding to a residence in the 200 block of West 19th Street in Reserve at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday.
A 28-year-old female victim told deputies she and her fiancé had a verbal confrontation, and she told him she was going to leave the residence, according to a release from Sheriff Mike Tregre.
“When she left the residence in her car, he followed her in his pick-up truck,” Tregre said. “When she was traveling on West Airline Highway, he intentionally hit her car with his pick-up truck. When she pulled over and stopped, he stopped. He shattered the driver’s side window, entered her car and demanded she drive back to their residence.”
At the residence, Tregre said the suspect forcefully removed the victim from the car and threw her to the ground.
Tregre said emergency medical services treated the victim for superficial cuts on her legs sustained when the driver side window shattered. She refused transportation for additional medical treatment.
