- Friends, family and neighbors turned out for Monday’s basketball games pitting squads from East St. John High and West St. John High against each other.
RESERVE — River Parishes high school basketball fans braved a driving rain storm Monday and forwent a meaningless prime time Saints game to see St. John the Baptist Parish’s two public high schools square off against each other.
Not everyone stayed excited throughout the night as Bailee Becnel, 9, seems a little bored.
The East St. John Wildcats swept cross-river rival West St. John in both varsity games.
East St. John’s girls defeated the Lady Rams 56-42. The East St. John boys defeated West St. John 81-35.
