Photo Feature: ESJ students meet Soledad O’Brien

East St. John High students visited the New Orleans Urban Youth Academy Dec. 2 and met CNN News Anchor and HBO Real Sports contributor Soledad O’Brien and Channel 4 News Anchor Sheba Turk. Students Saiann White, Emone Cade, Alajanae Woods, Kierston Case and Kori Gauff participated in a softball clinic and worked out at the Academy’s facility. O’Brien and Turk spoke about mentoring, empowerment and what is needed to succeed in life. The students were also invited to attend an upcoming seminar, “PowHERful,” sponsored by O’Brien.
