Comardelle shines in front of class

PARADIS — J. B. Martin Middle School in Paradis announced its 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year as Anthea Comardelle.

Comardelle is the daughter of Dimitri and Carla Veltsos of Luling. Residing in Des Allemands, Comardelle is married to Cody Comardelle. They have a son, Levi, who is 1.

Comardelle, who is a graduate of Nicholls State University, is certified in grades first to eighth English/Language Arts with a Bachelors in General Studies and a Minor in History a Humanities. She has been teaching for six years.

She teaches seventh grade English/Language Arts. Comardelle serves on the school’s Positive Climate Committee, Developmental Designs Team and is the seventh grade English/Language Arts Teacher Support Leader. She chose teaching as a profession, “to help students feel loved and valued enough to participate in the learning process.”

Comardelle will move on to the parish level, where she will represent J. B. Martin along with teachers from around the district.
