Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner tradition begins

The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court 66 in Edgard recently hosted their inaugural Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Center.
Honored members of Wantu Wazari Organization include Vernadean Oubre, Deola Ellis, Nora Pierre, Grace Cook, Sheriff Mike Tregre, Mary Elizabeth Johnson, Myrtle Walker and Chermaine Roybiskie.
The Ladies Auxiliary honored the Wantu Wazari Organization for its dedication of sponsoring the Senior Citizen Dinner for the past 40 years.
Seniors enjoyed a celebration of togetherness, laughter, good food and music.
