Keller: Wife grateful for Bible time with husband

Published 12:01 am Wednesday, November 11, 2015

For over 25 years, I’ve conducted the DWI classes for the 29th and 40th Judicial Districts.

I choose not to charge anything for my services. I firmly believe that what God has given me freely, I should give freely.

The following letter is one I received Monday of this week. That’s more than enough payment for the services I perform:

“11/1/15

Dear Mr. Keller,

My husband attended your defensive driving course in September because of the DWI he got in July. My husband and I have been together for going on seven years and he has never been one to talk about his feelings, or what is going on in his head.

On the first night when my husband got home, I was asleep. The second night when he left there and headed home, he sent me a text and told me to stay awake. We talked all night about Jesus and God and the difference between how he grew up Catholic and me growing up Baptist.

We have three little boys. I had two boys from a previous marriage and we have one together. My boys have attended church almost every Sunday since the day they were born and I have done my best to try and teach them about Jesus.

They are in constant communication with Him and we constantly talk about Him.

For the years my husband and I have been together, I have asked him to come to church and he always said he did not feel comfortable going because he was a Catholic. He used to make fun of my beliefs and try to catch me off guard to get me to say something against God.

For the past two months, we have spent the evenings reading the daily devotional he got from you and reading the Bible. We pray when he is struggling and we talk as a family about Jesus and God! He constantly tells others about meeting you and how you have opened his eyes to the truth and his weaknesses.

Even though I have yet to meet you, I want to thank you for bringing back the man I fell in love with seven years ago and allowing him to begin becoming the man that the Lord has made him to be.

We wanted you and your wife to take this gift card as a small token of our appreciation.

Have a blessed day,

(Name Withheld)”
