LAPLACE — Choice International Family Outreach Community Development Corporation will host “I Am My Brother’s Keeper” elderly empowerment banquet at 3 p.m. Sunday to assist the elderly population in the Tri-Parish region.

Organizers said this event will provide basic necessities, stipends, entertainment and aid to the elderly population in the Tri-Parish region.

This event is free to the elderly and takes place at Choice The Events Place, 516 E. Airline Highway in LaPlace.

Founder of Choice CDC Dr. Antoine Jasmine said he is excited for the opportunity to provide residents with events to boost morale and holistically increase the community.

According to Jasmine, Choice CDC has served as an innovative training establishment, emergency distribution center in the wake of Hurricane Isaac and aided in the incorporation of the arts and outreach programs throughout the River Region for over a decade.
