HAHNVILLE — Webb Jay announced he is running for Council District 3 in St. Charles Parish.
Having served as president of Ormond Civic Association for the last four years has given Webb a unique understanding of the needs of local residents, he said.
Jay grew up in Destrehan and attended Destrehan High. He received his Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and is attending Regent University in pursuit of his Masters of Divinity.
For the last 15 years he has worked as a Real Estate Agent and Associate Broker; he is currently affiliated with Latter & Blum in Destrehan.
As an ordained minister and community leader, Jay has also worked with several non-profit organizations and churches and has served in various areas of Christian Ministry.
He oversees the Student Ministries and serves as the Director of Church Life at South Pointe Church.
Jay said he loves his community and while District 3 has many things people are looking for in a place to raise their families, he would like to work to improve drainage, promote and expand recreation facilities for young people, encourage responsible business growth and make sure taxes remain low and are well spent.
