Francis running for St. John Council District 6 seat

LAPLACE — Dwayne Patrick Francis is running for Councilman District 6 in St. John the Baptist Parish.
Born on April 1, 1988, at River Parishes Hospital to Melissa Francis and Dwayne Parquet, Francis said he is a product of the St. John the Baptist School District and graduated in 2007 from East St. John High School.
Francis received All State and All District football accolades at East St. John High School and a football scholarship to Rochester Community Technical College in Minnesota. Forsaking his dream to play football, Francis said he returned to the community and began creating opportunities to improve the livelihood of others.
In the wake of Hurricane Isaac, Francis said he comprised a relief team that provided food, clothes and basic necessities to over 1,000 people in the Tri-Parish region.
Francis said he demonstrates superior work ethic and strong interpersonal skills as he embraces others that may struggle with adversity.
In 2013, Francis was ordained as a pastor at Choice International Family Outreach Worship Center. He is positioned as the Youth Pastor of Route 46, a group that aids in mentoring and leading youth and young adults to make better life choices.
Francis said he has the ability to encourage others and is a reliable leader within every organization he is affiliated with, adding he is known for his passion for football and coaches a youth football league in LaPlace.
Francis is married to Anastacia Taylor Francis and is the proud father of two sons and two daughters, Jerrimiah Francis, My’kel Francis, Starr Francis and Skylarr Francis.
