Voter registration drives continue this week in St. John Parish

LAPLACE — Representatives from St. John’s Registrar of Voters Office are conducting voter registration drives this week as St. John the Baptist Parish celebrates Voter Education Week through Friday.
Representatives are visiting locations throughout the parish to increase voter registration.
The primary election is Oct. 24, and the last day to register to vote is Sept. 23.
Voter registration drives will take place at the following locations:
• At noon today at St. Charles Catholic High School, 100 Dominican Drive in LaPlace
• At 7:20 a.m. Thursday at East St. John High School, No. 1 Wildcat Dr. in Reserve
• At 10:15 a.m. Friday at the East Bank St. John Council on Aging Office, 214 Regala Park Road in Reserve
• At 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Westbank St. John Council on Aging Office, 155 East 3rd St. in Edgard
Early voting for the Oct. 24 election will take place Oct. 10-17 at the Registrar of Voters Office, located inside the Percy Hebert Building on the East bank and Edgard Courthouse on the West bank.
Seniors, individuals with mobility impairments, and students and residents who will be out-of-town for the election are reminded of the option to vote by mail.
Residents can obtain mail-in ballots by calling the Registrar of Voters Office to file a request.
Election officials stressed residents need to be advised of recent precinct changes.
