Philip Eloi Chauvin Jr., 86, was born Oct. 9, 1928, and passed away on Aug. 30, 2015.

He was a native and resident of Edgard.
He is survived by his wife, Winnie Rose Tassin Chauvin; sons Philip Eloi Chauvin III and Donald Gerard Chauvin; daughters Joy Anne Chauvin Kennon and Gail Frances Chauvin Zeringue; brothers Eugene, Ivy, Raymond, Ray and Myles Chauvin; and sisters Verline Pellegrin, Bertha deMarche and Paulette Amedee.
Chauvin is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Eloi Chauvin Sr. and Esperance Leroux Chauvin and a sister, Amelie Chauvin Kaupp.
Visitation will be on Sept. 2 from 8:30 until 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, 2349 Highway 18 in Edgard.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Parkinson’s Research.
