LAPLACE — A Reserve man was booked with kidnapping and other charges this week after authorities said he was connected to the armed robbery of a LaPlace business.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said detectives arrested Herbert Johnson Jr., 46, of Reserve Monday, adding detectives arrested Johnson at his place of employment.
“Over the course of the investigation, detectives indentified Johnson as a suspect in connection with the armed robbery …,” Tregre said in a release. “Because the investigation is still open, additional information regarding the investigation is not available.
“Detectives anticipate another arrest.”
Johnson was booked with principal to aggravated burglary, principal to aggravated kidnapping and principal to armed robbery. Johnson remains in custody in lieu of a $135,000 bond.
He has been arrested 33 times in St. John Parish since May 1986, authorities said.
