Summer feeding help open to St. John groups

LAPLACE — Second Harvest Food Bank is operating the summer feeding program in the Greater New Orleans area this year and is looking for partners in St. John the Baptist Parish.

The ten-week program will run from June 1 through Aug. 7.

The Summer Feeding program is free and open to non-profit summer camps and summer enrichment programs.

Meals are prepared fresh in the Harvest Community Kitchen, delivered free of charge and meet or exceed USDA nutritional guidelines.

Children enrolled in the programs receive breakfast and lunch daily throughout the ten-week program.

The Summer Feeding Program is offered through a partnership with the Department of Education and the USDA, as part of the Child Nutrition Act.
