LULING — St. Charles Parish Public Schools has been ranked as a top-ten school district in the Digital School Districts Survey by the Center for Digital Education and the National School Boards Association.

The survey showcases exemplary school boards’ and districts’ use of technology to govern the district, communicate with students, parents and the community and to improve district operations.

“This is an outstanding honor for the school system, our technology department and all those involved with implementing the latest technology in our schools,” said Felecia Gomez-Walker, superintendent of St. Charles Parish Public Schools.

“It is evidence of the School Board and school system’s commitment to ensuring that our district is on the cutting edge of technology and that our students have access to the most current technologies available. Technology is a driving force in today’s world, and this ranking indicates that we are a technology leader in the nation. We are very proud to have received this recognition and share this honor with our community.”

St. Charles Parish was ranked third in the nation for its student population range (3,000 to 12,000 students) and tops in the state.

The top ten rankings are awarded to school boards and districts that most fully implement technology benchmarks in the evolution of digital education, as represented in the survey questions.
