LAPLACE — Owner Teresa Boudreaux, staff members and community supporters celebrated the grand opening of Salon Experience Thursday at 543 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace.

“We wanted to open a salon that believes in great hair, client satisfaction, education and teamwork,” Boudreaux said. “Now the Aveda experience is available to St. John.”

Stylists Adele Guidry Growl, Corryn White and Tanya Tauceda, St. John the Baptist Parish administration officials, Council Member Cheryl Millet and the River Region Chamber of Commerce also joined the celebration.

The new Aveda salon was built on the Aveda fundamentals of teamwork and staying positive, healthy and happy.

Each client receives the common Aveda rituals, which include a head and scalp massage along with comforting tea and/or other refreshments.

Salon Experience offers haircuts and coloring for men, women and children and formal hair styles. Specialty makeup, airbrush makeup, and waxing services are also available.

Salon officials said Salon Experience is the only Aveda salon located in St. John Parish and within 25 miles.

The all-natural Aveda hair color and products are used during client appointments.

Guests will also find Aveda makeup, skin care items, shampoos and conditioners for sale.

Salon Experience is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are scheduled outside of working hours based on availability.
