RESERVE — A QuickBooks Basics Workshop for business owners in St. John the Parish takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and April 1 at the Business Training Center in South Central Louisiana Technical College, River Parishes Campus, 181 Regala Park Road in Reserve.

The effort is sponsored by the St. John Economic Development Department and St. John the Baptist Parish Small Business Training Center.

Through a sponsorship with Good Work Network and St. John Parish Economic Development Department, SEBD businesses can participate for $25.

The workshop will be instructed by the director of accounting and finance of Good Work Network, as well as two accountants from Good Work Network.

The workshop will consist of a four-hour session, the basics of accounting, reading and understanding financial statements, the basics of using QuickBooks to record the financial transactions of a business, eight hours of instruction, 2014 QuickBooks software and two two-hour follow up sessions.

Pre-registration and SEBD certification is required, and seating is limited.
