RESERVE — St. John Theatre officials are producing Irving Berlin’s classic Broadway hit, “Annie Get Your Gun” as its 35th summer musical at the theatre in Reserve.
This year’s show will be directed by Greer M. Millet. Audition times 7 p.m. nightly April 13-16 at the theater on West 4th Street.
Show dates are July 17-19 and 22-25.
Millet needs a large cast and encourages families to audition for stage roles and volunteer for the many jobs behind the scenes.
Show synopsis:
Annie Oakley is the best shot around and manages to support her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. When she’s discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, he persuades her to join his Wild West Show. It only takes one glance for her to fall head over heels for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler, who headlines the show.
She soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction, which, is bad for romance. Butler hightails it off to join a rival show, his bruised ego leading the way, but is ultimately pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out.
