DESTREHAN — The East Regional Library Book Discussion Group, which has been meeting regularly for more than ten years, will Skype with the authors of the books they are discussing at three of their next four monthly meetings.

All meetings are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the East Regional Library, 160 W. Campus Drive in Destrehan.

Everyone is invited to join the group for these discussions.

The group will discuss Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight on March 18.

This debut novel about mothers and daughters has been compared to the work of Jodi Picoult and appeared on many “best of the year” lists.

McCreight will join the group via Skype to answer questions.

On April 15, the book selection is The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry. Author Gabrielle Zevin will join the group via Skype to answer questions. On NPR’s Morning Edition, The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry was referred to as “a love letter to the joys of reading.”

Zevin has written books for both teens and adults, and this is her eighth novel.

This series of author Skype sessions will end on June 17, when author John Searles joins the group via Skype to discuss his book Help for the Haunted.

This mystery/family drama is about a young woman haunted by the long ago murder of her parents.
