On Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, Debra Reech Aguilar peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her family.

She was 60, a native of LaPlace and a resident of Norco.

Aguilar is the beloved wife of George ‘Joe’ Aguilar Jr.; daughter of Nellie Grimes Reech and the late Willie Reech; sister of Lisa R. Armand (Don), Pamela R. Brignac and the late Carolyn R. St. Martin; daughter-in-law of the late Mary Aguilar and George J. Aguilar Sr.; and sister-in-law of Johnny W. Aguilar (Heather), Louis A. Aguilar, Sr. (Kim), Ernest R. Aguilar of Houston, Naomi Aguilar of Conroe, Texas, Sherry Aguilar of Houston, Lisa Aguilar of Palacios, Texas, and Monica Aguilar of Houston.

She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and godchildren.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Debra’s special caretakers, Aulbon Hawkins (an angel with invisible wings) and Carvis Maricle.

The family would also like to thank two very special friends, Bill and Diane Truax, for their heartfelt assistance.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services.

Visitation is at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy. in LaPlace, on Monday, Jan. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St., LaPlace at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
