The 2015-2018 St. John the Baptist Parish School Board members were sworn into office Thursday in Edgard by 40th Judicial District Judges Madeline Jasmine, Mary Hotard Becnel and Sterling Snowdy.

Among the 11 members was newcomer Shawn Wallace, pictured, the new District 9 representative, who replaces Lowell Bacas.

Wallace told the crowd he will strive for excellence in education in St. John Parish.
