John Paul Bergeron Jr., 45, was born on May 4, 1969, and passed away on Jan. 6, 2015.

He was a native of New Orleans and resident of Convent.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Convent from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

He left behind his loving wife, Stacy and their five children Mason, Johnathan, Joshua, Emily and Zachary; mother, Cathleen Hermann Bergeron; sister Karen (Stephen Geist); niece Brittany (Matthew James); nephews Stephen, Jr. (Julie) and Christopher; mother-in-law Francine Slimmer; and father-in-law Gordon Slimmer.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Sr., and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. D. Bergeron and Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Hermann Sr.

He was unlike any man I’d ever met. Love at first sight and through thick and thin he never wavered for one second. My rock!! He was a loving husband, father, son and friend, he treated everyone with respect and kindness.
