Mabel Vicknair Madere, 98, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.

She was a native of Montz and a longtime resident of LaPlace and recently of Montz.

She was the beloved wife of the late Murphy Madere Sr. by second marriage and the late Henry J. LaBranche Sr. by first marriage.

Madere was the loving mother of Sherry L. Calcagno (Joseph), Zene G. LaBranche, Henry J. LaBranche Jr. and the late Murphy Madere Jr. and grandmother of David Calcagno (Kathleen), Terry Landry (Glen), Randy Calcagno, April L. Brandt (Brian) and Leslie Piwowar (Tim).

She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and five great great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pauline Vicknair and seven brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St., LaPlace on Friday, Jan. 9 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will begin in church at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery.
