Inspirational play opens locally Jan. 11

RESERVE — Gospel stage play “Lord, If I Can Help Somebody…,” will entertain local audiences with two performances Jan. 11.

Director and playwright JaVon Ophelia Butler is presenting the production, along with SeLah Productions, Inc. for 3 and 7 p.m. at St. John Theatre, 115 West 4th St. in Reserve.

Ticket prices are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Many St. John the Baptist Parish residents are a part of the community production, Butler said.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, whose mission is to improve the quality of health, life and services for individuals, families and communities impacted by sickle cell disease and related conditions.
