Merilyn Ann Hymel Kliebert, 76, was born Feb. 27, 1938, and passed away on Dec. 6, 2014.

She was a native and resident of Vacherie.

She is survived by her four daughters Gayle K. Cortez, Karen K Scioneaux and husband Chris, Kelly K. Bourgeois and husband Corey and Glenda M. Kliebert.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Tammy C. Rodrigue and husband Beau, Trent C. Scioneaux, Mason T. Scioneaux, Beau M. Bourgeois, Jodi L. Bourgeois, Paul Woods and Joshua Woods; siblings Harry Hymel (Emeranthe), Albon Hymel Jr. (Dot), Kenneth Hymel (Mae), and Lynn Hymel (Debbie), Virgia Waguespack, Ethel Recatto (Ricky), Judy Waguespack (Wayne) and sisters-in-law Cecile Hymel and Mary Lynn Hymel.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren J. Kliebert, parents Albon Hymel Sr. and Fidelise Amedee of Vacherie, as well as a sister Hazel Rome, two brothers Burchman Hymel and Jerome Hymel and a brother-in-law, Eddie Rome Sr.

Kliebert was a home maker and house wife. She loved to laugh and spend time with her grandchildren.

Special thanks to the dedicated caregivers who took great care of our Mom. Also thanks to St. Catherine’s Hospice for their loving and wonderful care of Mom.

Services will be at St. Phillip on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 7:30 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
