St. Rose — As of Friday morning, Louisiana State Police troopers have not developed any suspect vehicle information following a fatal hit and run that claimed a life in St. Charles Parish.
A St. Rose woman was struck and killed Thursday morning while walking, and authorities are looking for information on the vehicle involved in the collision.
Greg Marchand of Louisiana State Police said the hit-and-run took place at approximately 1:45 a.m. Thursday in front of 305 Louisiana 626 (St. Rose Avenue) in a mixed residential and commercial area of St. Charles Parish.
The initial investigation revealed an unknown vehicle operated by an unknown driver was traveling southbound on Louisiana 626.
“The pedestrian, Christin Allday, 25, was walking eastbound across Louisiana 626,” Marchand said.
“Allday failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle, walked into the roadway and was struck. Allday received life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Charles Hospital, where she later died.”
State police said impairment is unknown on Allday’s part, adding blood and urine samples will be collected by the St. Charles Parish Coroner’s Office for a toxicological analysis.
“These results are pending, and this crash remains under investigation,” Marchand said.
“Troopers are asking anyone having information to identify the unknown vehicle, please call Troop B at 504-471-2775.”
