Daniel R. Horn, 97, a native and resident of Hahnville passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014.

Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Lulling.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Lussan Horn; sons, Ronald Horn (Kathy), Robert Horn (Renee); daughters, Joan Heintz (Harvey), Janel Pizzolato (Jack), Jill Horn; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Edna Martin Horn; foster parents, Laurent and Marie Keet Labry and brothers, Eldon, Allen, Henry, Arnold, Denis and Lionel Horn.

Daniel was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Stars. He was a member of Knights of Columbus 2409 of Luling and American Legion Post 131 of Luling. He was a former teacher at St. James High School and retired teacher/principal in St. Charles Parish School System, as well as Compton Encyclopedia salesman.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville.
