LAPLACE — Applications for four Community Development Block Grant Housing Programs designed to assist the needs of low-to-moderate income residents and those who sustained property damage during Hurricane Isaac will continue to be accepted through Dec. 31.

St. John the Baptist Parish residents interested in applying for one of the four programs — Homeowner Rehabilitation, Homebuyer Assistance, Housing Elevation and Small Rental Rehabilitation — may visit between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the new Intake Service Center location at 501 Rue de Sante, Suite 1 in LaPlace.

Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents can submit applications at the Intake Service Center or via email to CDBGHousing@sjbparish.com.

The CDBG Housing Programs are being funded through the $32 million Department of Housing and Urban Development CDBG Disaster Recovery Program and the State of Louisiana Office of Community Development/Disaster Recovery Unit to provide funding to housing programs, economic development and infrastructure.

For information on the programs and/or a list of qualifications/requirements, visit sjbparish.com and click on the homepage link, “CDBG Housing Program,” or call the Intake Service Center at 985-359-0555.
