LAPLACE — A local juvenile remains detained pending the outcome of a detention hearing scheduled for this morning.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 700 block of Colony Drive in LaPlace at 9:14 a.m. Tuesday following the report of a burglary of a car in progress.

According to authorities, a witness saw a male juvenile rummaging through a parked car. Responding deputies arrested and booked the juvenile with simple burglary of a motor vehicle.
