DESTREHAN — The St. Charles Parish Library will host its second After Hours at the Library event for adults from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14. at the East Regional Library, 160 W. Campus Dr. in Destrehan.

Carolyn Kolb, author of “New Orleans Memories: One Writer’s City,” will speak. Kolb, a New Orleans native, is a former Times-Picayune reporter and current columnist for New Orleans Magazine.

Kolb’s book takes her readers on a virtual tour of her favorite New Orleans people and places.

“When things fail, when the lights go out and the roof caves in and the water rises, all that remains, ultimately, is the story,” Kolb said.

Copies of “New Orleans Memories” will be available for sale and signing after the presentation.

In addition to Kolb’s presentation, there will be refreshments and door prizes.

“It’s been a lot of fun putting together another fun night for everyone,” said Lauren Pitz, public relations and adult programming librarian. “We’re going to have a relaxed evening beginning with coffee and pastries and ending with Carolyn Kolb’s memories of New Orleans.”

This event is for adults 18 and older. All St. Charles Parish Library events are free of charge and open to the public.
