LAPLACE — River Parishes Hospital’s Administrative Team recognized Tammy Waltz, community relations coordinator, for receiving two Pelican Awards from the Louisiana Society for Hospital Public Relations & Marketing.

The Pelican Awards are given each year to honor exemplary efforts in hospital public relations and marketing among Louisiana Hospital Association members.

Waltz received a Pelican Award and a Certificate of Merit for her marketing of the hospital’s 2013 Breast Cancer luncheon and fashion show. She received another Pelican Award for her marketing efforts in welcoming a new physician.

“It’s very gratifying to be recognized for your work,” said Waltz. “I am very fortunate to have a job that I truly enjoy and to be able to work with a wonderful group of people.”

The awards are handed out during the annual fall meeting of the Louisiana Society for Hospital Public Relations & Marketing, for work done the previous year.

A project profile, including planning, research, strategy and evaluation, as well as supporting material must accompany each entry.
