HAHNVILLE — The proposed St. Charles Parish operating budget for 2015 has been posted online for review by the public.

The PDF file may be downloaded at stcharlesparish-la.gov and is available for viewing at the West and East Regional St. Charles Parish Library locations, 105 Lakewood Drive in Luling and 160 W. Campus Drive in Destrehan.

The document identifies revenues and expenditures for the 2015 fiscal year, which goes into effect on Jan. 1. Budget priorities for the $96.8 million in government revenues and an estimated $59.4 million in fund balances carried over from 2014 are also listed.

Parish President V.J. St. Pierre’s budget message begins on page 39 of the document.

“Considerable funding has been budgeted to continue the permitting, design and construction of the West Bank Hurricane Protection levee,” he said.

“In addition, in 2013 St. Charles Parish became the governing authority of the Sunset Drainage District and has invested and budgeted more than $1.6 million in pump station improvements and equipment upgrades. In 2015 we expect to spend considerable revenue on land acquisition and associated mitigation to continue making improvements to the Sunset levee.”
