DES ALLEMANDS — Authorities are searching for two men they say bilked an area store out of more $1,600.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office released photographs of two men this week who deputies said entered Franks Market on 17235 U.S. 90 in Des Allemands at 3:35 p.m. Sept. 9.

The two suspects provided the cashier with employment checks and asked if they could be cashed.

It was learned that the checks were fraudulent after they were cashed.

Deputies said the suspects provided fake identification cards.

The total amount of both checks was $1,687.27.
