RESERVE — Authorities believe a Metairie man could be linked to a St. John the Baptist Parish cafe burglary that took place in May.

St. John Sheriff’s Office detectives announced this week they were seeking the public’s assistance to find David Colby, 44.

Detectives say Colby is a person of interest in the May 27 burglary of Pirogue Café in Reserve.

Sgt. Dane Clement said Colby has a Metairie address on file, but has several arrests on his record from parishes neighboring St. John the Baptist Parish.

Clement said evidence collected at the Pirogue Café crime scene links Colby to the location, where cash was stolen.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Colby, who is the only person being sought for the burglary at this time, is encouraged to call the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
