GARYVILLE — Two men with a history of drug crimes in the River Parishes were arrested last week in a multi-agency law enforcement operation, authorities said.

The men, who are brothers, included one from Garyville. They were arrested Thursday following a month-long investigation by St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

Sgt. Dane Clement of the St. John Sheriff’s Office said detectives made several buys from the brothers over the course of the investigation, culminating with Thursday’s buy and arrest.

Clement said additional arrests may result from the investigation.

According to a release from St. John authorities, Tramon Dixon, 26, of Metairie and Raynell Dixon, 32, of 337 Historic East Street in Garyville were the subjects of an undercover drug sting.

“Over the course of the investigation, an undercover officer purchased marijuana and ecstasy from Tramon Dixon and Raynell Dixon,” a release from the Sheriff’s Office said.

“Thursday, when detectives executed the warrants, Tramon Dixon was in possession of 39 grams of marijuana ($100) and 10 doses of ecstasy ($100), and Raynell Dixon was in possession of .5 grams of marijuana.”

Tramon Dixon was arrested and charged with distribution of marijuana, four counts of principal to distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS.

He remains in custody in lieu of a $155,000 bond.

Tramon has been arrested 17 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since 2006.

Raynell Dixon was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of schedule I CDS and possession of marijuana.

He was released on a $51,500 bond, and has been arrested 35 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since 1999.
