LAPLACE — Hailey Boeckl, a fifth grade student at St. Joan of Arc School, won the privilege of being Principal for the Day at the parish fair in April.

She recently cashed in on that honor and spent the day doing special activities and duties as principal, like reading to the preschool students, monitoring students during break and accompanying a class to Twin Oaks for a friendly visit.

She began her day by making the morning announcements and leading the school in prayer.

Her popularity skyrocketed when she awarded the students five extra minutes of recess for two days.

She then completed many principal-like activities throughout the day.

One special event was taking two friends with her to an off-campus lunch with the other principal, Jeffery Montz.

Her day ended the way it began, making announcements and leading prayer.
