HAHNVILLE — The St. Charles Parish Council voted unanimously to confirm Michael Albert to lead the St. Charles Parish Planning and Zoning Department.
Albert will lead the 16-employee department, which oversees permitting, zoning and overall land use.
“I am confident we have found a candidate who will keep the need to create a quality living and working environment in St. Charles Parish paramount,” Parish President V.J. St. Pierre said recently.
Albert, a certified planner with the American Planning Association, comes to St. Charles Parish after working as community development director of St. Bernard Parish.
He holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning and a bachelor of arts in criminology from the University of Florida.
The appointment comes on the heels of the resignation of former Planning Director Kimberly Marousek, who took a job with a planning commission in Baton Rouge in August.
