St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Revere Drive in LaPlace Tuesday for the report of a kidnapping.
A 14-year-old girl reported she was kidnapped by two unknown male subjects who put a plastic bag over her head and forced her in a car.
She said she escaped when the men attempted to bring her in an unknown house in the Cambridge Subdivision. She ran to a friend’s house with the bag still over her head and a nap sack on her back.
As the investigation continued, investigators learned the 14-year-old girl fabricated the entire story because she knew her mother would discipline her for returning home late after visiting a young male subject at his residence.
Investigators arrested the girl for criminal mischief — filing a false police report. She was released to the custody of her mother.
