LAPLACE — St. Joan of Arc Catholic School recently held its first Family Olympics to start off the new school year.

Families kicked off the event with Mass, which was followed by the torch lighting and opening ceremony led by Principal Jeffrey Montz.

Food and games were provided for the evening of family fun. Ceremonies were concluded with the extinguishing of the torch and distribution of awards to all young Olympiads.

Organizers said special thanks goes to Msgr. Dennis Bergeron Knights of Columbus Council 5935 for grilling the burgers.
