RESERVE — The 1084th Transportation Company of the Louisiana National Guard in Reserve recently hosted American Legion Post 383 in LaPlace members to speak with the troops about the benefits of joining the American Legion.
Legion members were well received by the enlisted personal and the officers.
After learning how the Legion fights for veteran and their families and the benefits of belonging to the world’s largest veterans organization, 27 members of the reserve army unit joined or requested further information.
Commander Dave Gatt and Legion member, Retired Army Colonel Bernie Coy, gave the presentations, as six members of the local Post assisted with the application process.
Due to time limits, the Legion was invited back to make an additional presentation to those that didn’t have the opportunity to attend.
