RESERVE — The strong-armed robbery of $10 led to a local man’s arrest, authorities said.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 100 block of East 24th Street in Reserve at 7:32 p.m. Saturday after a 33-year-old Reserve man told deputies he was robbed.

The victim said a man walked up to him, telling the victim to give him his money. When the victim refused, the perpetrator said, according to deputies, “Let me get my

gun.”

“The victim then took $10 out of his pocket, and the perpetrator grabbed it from his hand and ran into a nearby trailer,” a Sheriff’s Office release said. “No one was injured.”

Deputies located the perpetrator in the trailer and recovered the money, and authorities said the suspect was identified as Freddie James, 25, of East 24th Street in Reserve.

James is booked with simple robbery. He remains in custody in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
