Police name ‘Wacky,’ ‘Keem’ car burglary suspects

LAPLACE — Two Hammond men are suspects in a string of car burglaries in St. John Parish last month.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office received several calls regarding the burglary of vehicles in Indigo Estates, Summerlin Lake Subdivision and Palmetto Lakes Subdivision in LaPlace on July 17.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Lawrence Jackson and Akeem Banks, both of Hammond, as those responsible for the burglaries.
Both are wanted by the Sheriff’s Office on outstanding arrest warrants.
Jackson, 27, is 6-feet-tall and weighs 230 pounds. His last known address is on Chloe Drive in Hammond.
His nickname is “Wacky.”
Banks, 23, is 6-feet-1-inch tall and weighs 145 pounds. His last known address is on Perry Lane in Hammond. Banks’ nickname is “Keem.”
Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to apprehend Jackson and Banks.
