NORCO — Emergency crews are continuing to monitor a biodiesel facility this morning following a Sunday fire in Norco.
The St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor the situation, according to St. Charles Public Information Officer Renee Allemand Simpson.
At 12:01 a.m. Monday Simpson said the Operations Center reported the fire that occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Diamond Green Biodiesel facility in Norco was extinguished.
“The production unit involved has been shut down,” Simpson said in a release. “There are no protective actions necessary on the part of the public related to this incident. The plant has reported no injuries.”
Simpson said there are no road closures, and air monitoring crews in the area found no detected readings.
