LAPLACE — The Senior Friends Members at River Parishes Hospital recently attended a Red, White and Blue Meet and Greet Lunch and Seminar.
Members enjoyed a complimentary lunch and had the opportunity to sign up for upcoming member events scheduled through August. Members were also able to bring a guest to learn about the benefits of joining the Senior Friends Program.
Chief Nursing Officer Mary Lubrano and Heidi Daigle, business office manager, spoke to members about a new My HealthPoint patient portal the hospital recently launched, giving its patients online access to important information about their hospital stay, including procedures performed, a list of current and past medical issues, a list of current medications and medication history, laboratory tests and discharge instructions.
The River Parishes Hospital Senior Friends Program hosts bimonthly meet and greet luncheons for its members to get acquainted with each other, learn about new or updated program benefits and educate members on common health issues related to the senior population.
River Parishes Hospital also offers a Fit At 50 Exercise Program, which is designed for individuals 50 and older.
