LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital has been chosen to receive an Excellence in Patient Care Award from the Studer Group, a firm the hospital partners with to help patients’ satisfaction, safety and quality.
The award will be presented at an annual conference in Chicago.
The Excellence in Patient Care awards are given to organizations coached by Studer Group based on various categories.
To be eligible for an award, an organization must demonstrate outstanding performance in patient care.
St. James Parish Hospital is being recognized for its “nighttime quietness” HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) composite score.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, along with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, developed the HCAHPS Survey to provide a data collection methodology for measuring patients’ perspectives on hospital care.
The HCAHPS Survey is administered to a random sample of patients continuously throughout the year. CMS cleans, adjusts and analyzes the data, then publicly reports the results. For more information about the services provided by St. James Parish Hospital, visit www.sjph.org or call 225-869-5512.
