St. James’ Roussel taking Branson stage

St. James Parish teen Katy Nicole Roussel will soon be taking her talents to Branson, Mo., to compete on the national stage.

The recently named Youth Louisiana Entertainer of the Year will be performing on several stages on the Branson strip as well as entering two national competitions.

Katy, 15. will be traveling to Branson Saturday and will perform on the Golden Corral Stage Sunday before taking part in the Kids on First National Talent Competition on Monday.

Katy will compete in the Vocal Country category with “Bill Bailey,” the Vocal Patriotic category with “God Bless the USA,” the Vocal Gospel category with “Amazing Grace” and the Vocal Combination with a vocal and sign language rendition of “How He Loves.”

Acts will be judged on entertainment value, technical skills and costuming. Katy has also been chosen as one of four youth across the nation to participate in Branson show producer Tim Muniz’s “Super-Competition.”

While in Branson, Katy will perform at Dixie Stampede as well as the Branson Show, Patsy Remembered.
